On April 17, five members of Ralston Fire traveled to Indianapolis, Indiana for the Fire Department Instructor’s Conference. This conference is the most prestigious fire department training in the world. Fire Chief Carrie Wagner, Training Captain Ben Burbridge, Rescue Captain Tera Cavalieri, Firefighter Andy Bierbrauer and EMT Lauryn Dewald attended the conference. The conference began April 18 and concluded April 23. Members attended multiple hours of hands-on training and classroom training. While at the conference, all Ralston Fire members completed the National Fallen Firefighter Foundation’s 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb. Chief Wagner finished fundraising in the Top 3 for the event and Ralston Fire raised the most money with a total of $2.395. All department members were humbled to be apart of such an amazing fundraiser and remembrance for the fallen brothers on 9/11. On April 24, members traveled back home to Ralston, eager to share their new training with fellow firefighters.
